Bill of Lading – release process

Once your invoice is fully paid and no original Bill of Lading was requested, we will inform the shipping line to start processing the internal release process.

Depending on the workload of the shipping line, in general please calculate 1 working day that its done.

In the case you have requested an original Bill of Lading, we need to send the full set of 3/3 original Bills of Lading back to the shipping line before they can start the release process.

Once the release is done and it is confirmed by the shipping line, we will send you an email with release confirmation. Contact your import agent at destination and ask him to contact the local shipping line’s office together with a copy of your Bill of Lading draft, which shows your Bill of Lading and container number. Together they will identify your shipment.

It can happen that the local staff at the shipping lines office won’t see this internal information in their system. If that is the case please follow below steps:

  1. Ask the worker to refresh their shipping lines computer program to get current actual information/updates from other shipping line’s offices in the world
  2. If no release info came in after refreshing, ask them kindly if they can contact the shipping line’s booking office at origin by sending an email to them and ask to confirm the release
  3. If that is not possible locally, please forward the following details of the local staff which is not able to see your release.
    For this we need:
    – First + last name
    – His email address or group email address
    – His phone number (if possible)

Once received, we will forward the contact data to the shipping line at origin, so that they are able to communicate with their office at destination and with the particular worker or department to get your container released.
